How you look at online marketing will begin to change soon

If the world of online marketing, we haven't seen any massive changes that aren't easy to fix with a little time invested.  The search engine gods tweak their algorithms slightly, which means we have to adjust and edit little things on our websites like having mobile-friendly pages, but that's nothing that will hurt you if it's ignored.  The same goes for social media platforms, they tweak their systems, but there hasn't been anything major that would trigger any alarms for us to worry about.

Every year we go through the actions of tweaking our websites to please the masses, especially the search engines, but times are changing and we might need to think about this a bit more.  There have been changes in the law, net neutrality could be a thing really soon, and social media is making their own moves that shouldn't be ignored.  It's easy to think that there is a massive change on the horizon because we're used to changing when it comes to online marketing, but what exactly will be changing and affecting us in the process?  Well, here are a few things that could need your attention very soon.

A persons privacy online
When it comes to marketing, we all use cookies when running ad campaigns so we can show specific people certain ads, and we can even retarget specific visitors with certain ads that will increase our engagement.  Everything is going smoothly, but now people are constantly changing their devices, which makes it increasingly difficult to track them and know what they're doing.

Even with that, it's still possible to track visitors with robust software and services in order to know where they will be and who is more likely to purchase.  The problem is with privacy concerns and how we're going to keep targeting people and get our ad in front of the ones who will purchase.

One of the main challenges we encounter is the fact that around 11% of people online are now using ad blockers, which will not show any ads on a page, and this means our ads won't be seen by potential buyers.  Even though 11% doesn't sound like a lot, it's actually up around 30% from last year, which means it could be increasing more and more as people become aware of the free ad blocking services they can add to their browsers.  Some websites actually make the entirety of their profits from ad revenue and set up their pages so you wouldn't be able to access anything unless you manually disable your ad blocker.  Studies have shown that people will now abandon these websites asking to disable your ad blocker because they don't need the hassle, and it seems suspicious that a website is asking them to disable something.

Live video streaming
More and more we see people "going live" on Facebook and live streaming no plenty of other platforms instead of typing up a comment or writing a discussion like this one.  This is because marketers are beginning to realize that their customers respond better to visual stimulation rather than a wall of text on a service page.

Out of all of the options we have to advertise and market, live video streaming is one that has a lot of room to grow and should be watched.  People like watching videos, especially live ones, because they feel like they're interacting with the person streaming.  Facebook went on record to say that their live videos were seeing up to three times as much traffic and watch times compared to pre-recorded videos.  The live streams were also getting much more engagement each time, which was impressive because it was over 10x the number of comments than normal.  Live video works well because it's an actual person in front of the camera, which means it's riddled with human error, and people can usually relate to the person in the video How you look at online marketing will begin to change soon

If you think it's just a live stream vs a recorded video, you're wrong, because it's live video streaming vs everything else out there.  Around 80% of people would rather view a brand live streaming a bunch of content that they would have likely written up a blog post about, which is an insane amount of people.

AI on Marketing
People think that it's too soon for AI to show any significant impact on advertising and marketing, but that could be because they aren't educated enough to realize that AI is already in everyday life.  AI has embedded itself into all of our marketing campaigns, mainly because the systems that approve or deny our ads are fully automated and thinks for itself.  That's just the tip of the iceberg, we don't actually know how much AI has a role within marketing and advertising, but I would say it's going to more noticeable over the next 5 years.

A lot of the AI in marketing is seen as automation, which saves you time when trying to do hours of research in 10 minutes.  Think about it, how many times have you use something that reduced your times because it ran in the background while you did something else?  That's the tip of AI doing its job for you in the marketing department if that's how you used it.

In conclusion
Online marketing will be changing over the next 5 years, and if I'm right, it will be some drastic changes.  If you were to leave the game right now, then come back in 5 years, you might have an uphill battle when it comes to the learning process of all the new techniques and methods you would have to know just to get back in the game.  Marketing changes all the time, usually because of a search engine algorithm update, but with the incorporation of AI and how quickly it's evolving, we will see a vast change in how everything is working fairly soon.  Stay up to date, and keep researching whenever you can, so you're ahead of the curve when it comes to online marketing How you look at online marketing will begin to change soon

I've actually seen people on Facebook do livestreams of them presenting their products like a bid. The people watching comment their prices and try to haggle prices down while competing with other people. It has actually become this small niche that people do into in their free time. It's crazy this is how online marketing is shifting towards.

Going live in facebook is reallly effective when you are involve in selling because the potential customers can interact with you directly if you have any concern on the product or the prices. People wants to be sure that they are dealing with the legit and real person, so going live will attract more customers.

It is also a tactic that has been used by many companies to improve their customer relations in the way that they are able to get in touch with clients at a personal level. ceos and mds get to receive feedback direct from the ground while interacting with customers which is more effective than other written chats.

The interactive communication like Facebook live is getting to be popular but I cannot say that it is really effective. First reason is the time of day that your Facebook friends may be on a different time zone that not everyone is awake or online when you do your live video. But I have to agree that going Facebook live is effective if there are many friends who will be interacting with you.

Facebook live can be recorded. In case your followers missed the schedule of your live streaming, they can still watch the replay. I actually do this, when I missed webinars from the authors that I follow, I look if replay is available.

I have the same thoughts my friend. Technology is really changing the way business is done all over the world. I think it would be wise if anyone would devise new strategies that are not yet in place to be ahead of the trend.

I think online marketing would become more interesting in the coming days because there is great competition in it which makes it more interesting to have. It would also innovate from the time to time to adjust with the needs of the customers in order to have more profit.

More clients are getting to enjoy video contents than what we write on articles and this is changing the online marketing in a great deal. I am looking to see how everyone gets to adjust to the changes at the end of the day.

Video is always great since a lot of people can understand even when the
language is unfamiliar. It can also be used to create humorous content
even when one is doing marketing staff. Therefore I share the same
thoughts you have my friend.

I definitely think live videos and streaming is a growing market. You only have to look at how social media sites like Facebook and Instagram have incorporated live videos into their platforms. Social media tends to be progressive and on trend so I’m interested to see how the market grows in the future.

Yes there is really a big demand now for video streaming since it is a helpful tool in online marketing because we can easily get the exact ideas that we want through video streaming which sometimes takes time when we are reading some articles. I think in the coming years it would become more popular and best preferred by most people.

It's a mixed bag. I use an adblocker that comes with my anti virus. Though it might be a drag for website owners looking to track my information, I still think people are entitled to their privacy online if they wish to. I also can verify that I click out almost instantly when a site asks me to disable my adblocker. Mainly because to disable it, I have to go to the anti virus program and find the setting to turn it off, which I'm guessing most people don't even know how to do.

I have noticed this particular marketer on facebook that doesn't do anything on contents, but focuses on doing video marketing. I have always wondered the gain until I come across this explanations that you are giving. It is necessary for us to see things from the angle where we understand that many people wants to learn more by watching videos since it saves time for them.

I have seen some of those who are active in video marketing. And they seem to be promoting various types of the products. And for them they work on the referral for specific products and the services. I think on that note you can see that online marketing takes time. I'd say online marketing is not that easy especially the video marketing.

I tried conducting one survey recently on video vs written ads - which one people gives more attention. From the results gathered and analyzed, it showed that 80% of the respondents picked video ads over written ads. Even though this survey was limited to some areas, the result proved that people would pick videos ads easily over other ads.

There are many businesses are as of now consolidating chatbots to accomplish something other than answer straightforward client questions. Web based business utilize chatbots to give clients all encompassing client service.Their chatbot is equipped for making item recommendations and giving tips to shoppers based on a couple of basic inquiries.

It is great to have chatbots to help you answer queries from your customers. On that way, you can have time focus more of the other things than reading all the questions one by one. Also, it can make your customer feel like they are answered and prioritized with the help of the chatbots.

I disagree. I find chatbots annoying and would rather prefer a real person to chat with. It feels like they don't even take time to answer my inquiries that way.

I agree with you. I tried chatbots before and got frustrated. Chatbots tend to leave the conversation hanging. I prefer to talk to real persons since they are more responsive and have empathy.

I think blockchain can help when it comes to marketing in the future. Conceivably the most prompt effect blockchain will have is on advanced showcase publicizing, something that makes up a huge part of all internet promoting movement. As the framework works now, both the sponsor and the end client basically meet by method for a go between.

Hello
Have a wonderful day.

Online marketing has been changing day by day and very much rapid and speedy way. But the basic method of search engine topology is SEO. White hat SEO is compulsory for every website or product must be necessary. The most effective method of online marketing is white hat SEO- On page and off page optimization to generate traffic for the website from the search engines for the life time. One more matter- any product which you need to do online marketing you must need to know how do you write the article- what is the keyword analysis and what is keyword worth or value and how do you generate keyword based traffic from search engine and how do you make important and high volume keyword based hyperlink and do follow hyperlink for the website or website articles. Within 3 months you will get expected result.

Thanks

Interesting read. I wish I had started online marketing earlier. People that started in 2007-2010 are so lucky, they got in early on the game and made a lot of money. For those of us who started recently we are trying to play catch up in an industry where making money is becoming more difficult. The AI angel of online marketing looks like an exciting one. I've not heard an discussions on it, so it could be an interesting one to pursue.

I agree. People who started a few years ago are so lucky since they got in while the technology is up to its peak. But it will never be too late for a person to start off his career in online marketing. You just have to study your strategy on how to cope up with the game. Although, there's already a lot of competitors, the good thing is you can study their strategies and create your own and use it for your business.

I think in future more of bots working for marketing. And people would be paying through the biometric. And more such changes would come. I think time would be more for people in near future. And some of the time the online marketing would be good enough for the handling of the profit if the people are learning how to react to ads.

Technology has its impressive growth over the years, and we believe that it has more to offer than what we are enjoying as of the moment. Well, as for online marketing, we all know that it is still in its early stage. People are just beginning to experience this new field in the virtual world. So, I really believe that it will continue to flourish and would become so huge in the future.

I find using Facebook live an easy tool to use although not as yet, for selling a product. However, Facebook Live for marketing might not be as easy as it sounds. Anyone can produce a FB Live video, but few can do so and produce a QUALITY video. There is so much more to it than just chatting about a product. For that reason, I think blogs remain a viable alternative. Really, for marketing, both are needed.

I agree on that too. The streaming thru facebook are getting popular now. I watched as well tutoring those who want to know a specific subject like online jobs, they're more on giving tips on how to start and I see many people are really watching on the stream and really helping because it really guide step by step. So great that our technology with the help of internet can help earn and learn in a way not that hard just like before.

When technology was first introduced at my workplace, I was happy to learn how to use any tool that would make my job easier. But one thing I soon discovered about technology. It never stops changing! Which means you never stop learning something new. Change is a constant and you always have to keep up. So online marketing will be changing? (Sigh.) OK. I'm ready! Bring it! LOL.

If you don't learn, you will left behind, I started as a writer for newspaper. I learned online writing and began writing online. For a couple of years, I was purely an online writer. Then I learned digital marketing and began using various marketing strategies to earn more from writing. later, I learned web designing and now I also work as a wordpress designer. If you want to excel, you should be learning. You never know what will work for you.

Even in our company meetings we use some video streaming methods to better understand the whole discussion. It is really good since it give us a clear idea on what is the topic all about. It is not boring since you are being entertained on what you see rather than witnessing someone discussing through speaking which is sometimes not so convenient to have.

I have been trying to hone my skills and develop knowledge on online marketing ever since I began writing online. I am still in the learning phase even though I have worked as an online marketer for numerous client. The future is video marketing. People will watch 10 minutes video but will not take a time to read an article that only takes two minute. Since seeing is believing video marketing is very effective.

I think that I was told by one of my lecturers during my university days in mass communication that videos were 10 times more effective that pictures or written words.

Videos evokes more attention, commitment and influence than just words alone. They apply to both the sight and hearing senses.

True indeed. That's why after Google, the most visited site is YouTube. They say the young people in the US watch Youtube more than the TV networks. Video marketing is very effective because people can understand what is being delivered when they watch instead of seeing or reading. When I was in school, I could not understand the cell division process. Then one day out teacher let us watch the video. I still remember what I watched.

I have a very strong feeling about the use of artificial intelligence in online business marketing. There is no doubt it's going to be very effective in getting the job done. There is also the possibility of some people being skeptical of trusting these AI, but it's something that we should look forward to getting used to because they are definitely going to be incorporated to online business.

On Privacy:

The aftermath of lawsuits related to "privacy breach" made many companies start taking this issue very seriously. And online marketers must do what everyone else is doing. Ensure that you prominently display your privacy policy and ensure your site visitors know that none of their personal information will be shared or sold to third parties. If you use scripts to track them, let them know and give them an option to opt out. It builds trust. That's what you need if you are going to sell something to these people later.

p.s Great info, Tommy!

Yes I think live streaming can be a valuable or a change in how online advertising now. Almost everyone use some form of internet nowadays. And people usually like the sense of interaction they have with live streams. They can comment on real time or intreact with the streamer live. As to advertising, viewer can see the product live if it really works unlike in a home shopping network that the video could be recorded.

I have noticed the live streaming in Facebook is getting popular among my friends. It started with just 1 and a couple maybe but now it looks like there are hundreds who go on live streaming in a week. Perhaps in the months to come the live streaming will be the standard that instead of posting a selfie on the food on the table it will be a live video to show the eating of the food.
