Digital marketing for SEO web positioning

What are the best ways to implement digital marketing for better SEO positioning? Are you using the old fashioned ways such as Wiki backlinks or distributable PDFs? And, what role does social media sharing still play in modern SEO? At this point, I'm not even sure if social sharing on Facebook counts for SEO.

Well, it's nice to have an intelligent question to answer! That much I'll say for starters!

Let's break down your questions into individual answers.

What are the best ways to implement digital marketing for better SEO positioning?

As you may know, these days it's all about quality over quantity. How 1 high quality, highly relevant link from an authority site is worth more than 1000 low quality links that aren't. Actually, that's always been the same. And probably always will be. In that the best backlinks to get that make up good SEO are those that are from websites that are in the same niche/industry that yours are in. They are like the Holy Grail of all links to have. That is why guest posting is so popular and rated so highly amongst the people that do it. So if possible, try to get links from sites in the same niche as yours. Whether they be blog guest posts, forum links or wiki links. The better the site you get them from, and the more related that site is to yours, the better.
Are you using the old fashioned ways such as Wiki backlinks or distributable PDFs?

I still use PDF distribution for my own SEO campaigns and for the SEO services I provide. Simply because they allow you to create do follow contextual links to your site from high authority sites. They might not be related to your site but they are high authority sites and they have a long shelf life and a long stick rate and can often rank high on their own. So for this reason I still use them.
And, what role does social media sharing still play in modern SEO?

Well quite a large role and more than we realize. There is more than direct correlation between social media and good rankings today. It's well considered that search engines like Google are using social signals now as a ranking factor. And it's one way of them and people, knowing just how popular your site is amongst people today. And where there is social media, there is people.
At this point, I'm not even sure if social sharing on Facebook counts for SEO.

Well Facebook is a high authority social media site. So even though most links you can get from Facebook are no follow. Each link, each post, each like, each share or comment on those posts counts as an extra social signal in the eyes of Google. And no reputable business is without its own Facebook Fanpage or even Group or Community. It's not the be all and end all to SEO though. It's just another one site in a whole long line of social media sites that should be utilized like they all should to go towards helping improve your SEO rankings.

And that my friend, is my take on your answers. I hope you'll find them insightful and useful to you.

Let me know if you have any more questions and we'll try to answer those too. Digital marketing for SEO web positioning

Cheers!

Mike.

Oohh nice articles Mike, thanks for sharing all this awesome information.

I'm interested in the information about distributable pdfs? What exactly is done here? If I am not mistaken you did some pdfs for the Youtube promotion services you did for me right?

So what did you do with that pdf?

Hi Lynne. Well, you saw the report I sent you I presume? All it basically is, is making one PDF document, and then uploading and sharing that document on PDF doc sharing sites. That's basically it. Since those are high authority, Google friendly sites, those links that you get from the links within the PDF document itself will be counted as a contextual link (wrapped around text). And since they have such a long shelf life and stick rate, they just stay there improving and ranking higher with age and time. Digital marketing for SEO web positioning

Ohh I thought you would! lol yeah those are good sites worth submitting a few pdf's to for the ranking benefits they can bring. They're not all you need of course. But make up having a wide and diverse link profile with different types of links from different sites. But most big sites end up getting talked about in a pdf and then shared around online. And that's what makes pdf sites good for that purpose to share those pdfs which have links to your site. But all those sites are in that best backlink sites for seo link building lists too. Mostly. If only I had another 24 hours in a day and the energy of my two year old Mike, then I would be all over that link building!

Unfortunately I just can't get to everything myself, especially at this time of year. It is just the time when I am feeling really tired and I am moving slower than ever.

I love the idea of pdf doc sharing sites though, since as I understand it I can upload that pdf one pdf to my website and to numerous other websites too right?

Social sharing on Facebook doesn't count as SEO, it never did, Google has never taken into account your amounts of share as in implementing into direct ranking signals.
Social signals do count as a whole but Google always said it won't influence rankings directly as dofollow backlinks do.
So yeah, backlinks are still the most important thing you can get to improve your rankings. Along with best practices of on-page SEO getting quality, backlinks is among the most important factors you need to implement.

For SEO outside your page my suggestion is the commenting on popular blogs. What I mean by popular is a blog that has at least 10,000 regular readers. With that huge number you can be assured of a big audience for your comment. Of course, your comment should be a blockbuster so that it can attract the interest of the majority of readers. Aside from being considered a quality backlink, your comment can also result in direct traffic from the readers.
